Babywearing makes it all possible — while keeping your little one close, calm, and content. It’s one of those parenting tools that feels like a superpower. When in doubt….get the carrier!

👋 Let those little hands roam. When babies are allowed to touch, knead, and feel the breast: 🔹 They feel more connected and secure 🔹 It helps them position and attach more effectively 🔹 Milk flow can be stimulated through touch and movement Wrapping babies tightly or tucking their arms away during feeds might look neat and get them out of the way, but it can actually interfere with their natural instincts and make latching harder. 👐 Let their hands help — they’re part of the process.
Distracted Breastfeeding Baby? Here’s What You Can Do! 👶💭 It’s normal for older babies (4+ months) to get easily distracted at the breast — especially when the world gets more exciting! 🌍 But don’t worry, mama — here’s how to keep those feeds calm and comfy 💕 ✔️ Feed when drowsy — right before sleep or just after waking 💤 ✔️ Create a calm environment — dim lights, quiet space, less stimulation ✔️ Use a nursing necklace to keep baby’s focus 🧸 ✔️ Skin-to-skin contact can help reconnect and calm both of you 🤱 ✔️ Switch sides if baby gets fussy – a new flow may help. ❌ Don’t Force It Trying to push a distracted baby to feed can backfire. It may lead to: 🚫 Breast aversion 🚫 More stress for both of you Instead, follow baby’s cues and trust that they’ll eat when they’re ready. Every phase has its challenges — you’ve got this!

Here are a few gentle reminders before you dive in 💛 1️⃣ Every baby is different
Just like every milestone in infancy, starting solids happens at your baby’s own pace. It’s not a race.
👶🏽Trust your baby’s cues, follow your intuition, and aim for shared family meals 3x/day by 12 months! 2️⃣ Food is more than just nutrition
It’s about connection, exploration, and role modelling. Start building positive mealtime habits from day one 🥰 3️⃣ There’s no “one right” way
Baby-led weaning might feel great for some, while others prefer a slower texture transition— both are valid!
Do what feels right for you and your baby 💫 ✨ Remember:
Breastmilk or formula is all your baby needs until around 6 months. Watch for signs of readiness . Feeling overwhelmed? You’re not alone 💕
I would love to support you through your solids journey. If you feel you need more guided support around what to offer your baby, I can’t recommend @liznolan.nutrition enough 🙌

Will introducing a dummy ruin my breastfeeding? No! Dummies can actually be an amazing tool to support you in settling your baby — when used thoughtfully. Here are a few tips to keep in mind before introducing a dummy: - Wait until breastfeeding is well established; usually around 3–4 weeks. - Use the dummy for comfort, not to replace or delay feedings. - Watch your baby’s cues — if they’re rooting, sucking on hands, or showing signs of hunger, offer the breast first. - Respond to fussiness with a feed first, then consider the dummy if baby is still unsettled.
