If baby sleep is making you question yourself… pause 🀍 Most babies don’t settle “drowsy but awake.” They settle with closeness. Waking at night, short naps, needing you…all normal. There isn’t one “right” way your baby should sleep. When you respond, you’re not creating bad habits. You’re creating safety. You’re allowed to trust your baby.. and yourself

Play for babies doesn’t have to mean a floor full of bright toys or expensive music classes πŸ’› Some of the most meaningful play is simple, slow, and right in front of you. One of my favourites? Strapping your babe to your chest and heading out for a walk. Let them feel the breeze, touch the leaves, brush their fingers along the grass. Let them take in the world at their own pace while you soak up some fresh air and get a few steps in too. It’s connection. It’s sensory play. It’s regulation; for both of you. If your day feels a bit off, give it a go and see what shifts. Sometimes the simplest things are exactly what you both need 🌿

“Are they a good baby?” This question always stops me in my tracks… because what does that even mean? babies aren’t “good” or “bad” based on how easy they make our adult life. They’re tiny humans with their own temperaments, needs and ways of communicating. Some babies wake often — because that’s biologically normal (although exhausting) but it doesn’t make them ‘bad’! Some feed frequently — because that’s how they grow and feel safe! Some need more comfort, more closeness, more support — not because they’re “difficult,” but because that’s who they are. please remember they are their own little person, learning the world for the very first time; just like you are navigating parenting for potentially the first time. So maybe the better question to ask is… “What can I do for you so you can be there for them?’ Because that’s what actually matters 🀍

Multiple Birth Awareness Week πŸ’› I still pinch myself that my babies are nearly 4. Being a twin mum is something I will never take for granted — how lucky am I to have been given two completely unique souls at the same time. Watching them grow, side by side, has been the most beautiful, chaotic, and incredible journey. I am so proud of them; who they are, who they’re becoming — and honestly, I’m so proud of us too. And while this week is about celebrating multiple birth families, it’s also a reminder that all parents especially in those early years, need support. No one is meant to do this alone. So if you’re in it right now, whether you have one baby or more — I see you. And I’m here for you. Always πŸ’› #MultipleBirthAwarenessWeek #TwinMum #ParentingJourney #ProudMum

Breastfeeding is so much more than nutrition.πŸ’™“Surely my baby can’t be hungry again?” And sometimes… they might not be. Because the breast isn’t only about milk. It’s a place where babies feel safe, connected, and regulated. Breastfeeding can be comfort, reassurance, co-regulation, and connection — all wrapped into one tiny moment together. Try having this mindset as your babe wakes many times throughout the night, it might make it feel more managable ❀️

The “Tiger in the Tree” hold 🐯🌿 If your baby hates tummy time or gets gassy and unsettled, this simple hold can be a lifesaver. Place baby face-down along your forearm, with their head resting in the crook of your elbow and their legs on either side. Support their body with your other hand and gently walk or sway. Why parents love it: • Sneaks in tummy time (without the tears) • Strengthens neck & back muscles • Gentle tummy pressure helps trapped wind and colic • Calming, close, and reassuring for baby Tips: – Avoid right after feeding – Great for fussy evenings or burping Sometimes babies don’t need another gadget… They just need to be close and feel safe!

Distracted Breastfeeding Baby? Here’s What You Can Do! πŸ‘ΆπŸ’ It’s normal for older babies (4+ months) to get easily distracted at the breast — especially when the world gets more exciting! 🌍 But don’t worry, mama — here’s how to keep those feeds calm and comfy πŸ’• βœ”οΈ Feed when drowsy — right before sleep or just after waking πŸ’€ βœ”οΈ Create a calm environment — dim lights, quiet space, less stimulation βœ”οΈ Use a nursing necklace to keep baby’s focus 🧸 βœ”οΈ Skin-to-skin contact can help reconnect and calm both of you 🀱 βœ”οΈ Switch sides if baby gets fussy – a new flow may help. ❌ Don’t Force It Trying to push a distracted baby to feed can backfire. It may lead to: 🚫 Breast aversion 🚫 More stress for both of you Instead, follow baby’s cues and trust that they’ll eat when they’re ready. Every phase has its challenges — you’ve got this!
